The short version: no third-party trackers, and we never sell or share your data. You can play fully anonymously. An account is optional, stores only your email, your play history, and the share-link details described below, and you can delete it — completely — inside the game, anytime.
Your games, streak, and settings live in your own browser's storage, on your device. To understand how the game is played, we also record anonymous gameplay events (for example: a guess was made, a game was won on the 4th clue, a result was shared). These events contain no name, no email, no account ID, and no precise location — just the event, the country it came from, and coarse device info like screen size. We can't connect them to you, and we don't try. Traffic counting uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless.
Signing in with your email exists for one player-facing reason: so your games and streak can follow you across devices. If you do, we store:
The share-link code is 8 random characters — it contains nothing personal, and to anyone else it's meaningless. It exists so we can count how many new readers each player's shares bring in. While those readers play anonymously, we store nothing about them: not who they are, not that they're connected to anyone — only that a count went up by one. The one exception is the note above, and it's opt-in twice over: it is recorded only if such a reader later creates an account of their own and agrees to this same list.
We use all of this to sync your play and to understand how people play the game over time — things like how often players return. We never sell it, never share it with advertisers or anyone else, and never use it to contact you except for the sign-in links you request. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and work once.
Open the game's menu → Save your streak → Delete my account & synced history. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your email, game history, stats, sessions, share-link code, and referral notes are all removed — including, on other players' accounts, the note that you referred them. (Games saved locally on your own device stay yours.)
Game data is stored with Cloudflare (our hosting and database provider). Sign-in emails are delivered via Resend. Both act as processors for us; neither uses your data for their own purposes.
